3/24/2007 - Poplar Place Farm CIC2*

What a beautiful day to volunteer and be a jump judge. Volunteer coordinator Diana Lewis gave both myself and Jeffie Davis, one of the prime spots to judge - The Marina. It was a typical Georgia spring day (chilly in the morning and blazing hot during the day). It was a capacity event with more than 450 competitors and by the end of the day, the first place winners were:

On an upsetting note - we were eagerly waiting for one of our all-time favorite riders, Ralph Hill, to splash through our water hazard. To our sad dismay Ralph and his mount Reprint did not wow both us and the crowd. He had an unfortunate spill earlier in the course and was taken to a local hospital.

We wish Ralph a speedy recovery and look forward to hear him singing through cross country courses in the future. If you haven't seen Ralph's Care Page link, log on and be a part of his recovery.
